Welcome to Scread. By using our mobile application, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scread, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

Scread is a reading application that allows you to:

Read and manage your ebook library
Highlight and take notes on your books
Use AI-powered features for enhanced reading
Track your reading progress and streaks
Sync your library across devices

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of Scread, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload to Scread, including books, highlights, and notes. By uploading content, you grant us a license to store and display that content to provide our services to you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content to Scread. Do not upload content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use Scread for any illegal purpose
Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise our systems
Share copyrighted content without authorization
Abuse or harass other users
Attempt to reverse engineer the application

6. Intellectual Property

Scread and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Scread and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. AI Features and Fair Use policy

Scread includes AI-powered features. These features are provided "as is" and may not always be accurate. You should not rely solely on AI-generated content for important decisions.

To ensure high quality of service for all users and prevent system abuse, our AI features are subject to a Fair Use Policy. Free accounts are limited to a set daily number of AI interactions. "Scread Unlimited" premium subscriptions provide heavily expanded access, but remain subject to generous hourly and monthly rate limits. These limits are designed to prevent automated scripting, account sharing, or algorithmic abuse. We reserve the right to modify these limits to maintain service stability.

8. Subscriptions and Billing

Scread offers an auto-renewing premium subscription ("Scread Unlimited"). By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following terms required by the App Store and our billing systems:

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID / App Store account at the confirmation of purchase.
The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal manually by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.
Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
All fees are strictly non-refundable except as required by law or Apple's standard refund policies.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Scread is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scread shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
